IT & solutions

IT & Solutions offers a range of services including:

  • Advice on IT solutions to meet business needs
  • Development of IT strategies 
  • Implement disaster recovery plans 
  • Develop and host websites and intranets 
  • Assist with purchasing hardware and software

Located in Launceston and Hobart, our data recovery centres securely house replicas of our client organisation’s business systems to ensure availability in times of crisis.
Onstream’s IT Team was responsible for establishing an information technology platform for the three Regional Water Corporations to support operations from ‘Day 1’ achieving service level compliance of 97.5 per cent in the first year. The team also realised initial hardware purchase savings between 10–20 per cent and software licensing savings of $750,000 over three years.

Procurement

Onstream provides procurement services to the Regional Water Corporations and other clients to ensure the best value for money outcome. The team provide expertise in procurement strategies, managing tender processes, building and maintaining strong supplier relationships and strategic and transactional advice to support organisational objectives.
During the 2009-10 financial year our Procurement Team negotiated a number of statewide procurement arrangements and successfully completed a Request for Proposal (RfP) for the supply of electricity services to the three Regional Water Corporations. Contracts were subsequently signed to cover a total of 45 sites. Savings in excess of $850,000 are estimated over the next 12 months.

Billing services

Billing Services is responsible for billing, validation and receipting for the Regional Water Corporations. The implementation of the Customer Information System (CIS) has enabled the streamlining of water account billing.
Billing Services processes over 700,000 transactions each year generating revenue of $200 million for the three Regional Water Corporations.

Finance services

Finance Services Team specialise in  accounts payable, Navision administration, commercial services and banking. The Chief Financial Officer focuses on strategic financial matters for the Regional Water Corporations.

Payroll services

Onstream coordinates the payroll processes for the three Regional Water Corporations.
Our payroll services include:

  • Wage and salary payments
  • Time and leave accrual record keeping
  • Superannuation payments
  • Seasonal employment coordination
  • Temporary/contract employment services coordination
  • Corporate HR records management.

Throughout the first year of operations of the new Water and Sewerage Corporations, Onstream’s Human Resources Division was responsible for ensuring that pay cycles for transferring employees were retained. This included 29 Enterprise Agreements, three Awards and two Long Service Leave Acts. Weekly payroll processes were run with 19,000 payslips produced, payments to 115 superannuation funds and over 200 varying work conditions.
